Wow, I see an awful lot of kids crying over spilled milk here- these are gonna be the same people who gripe when ANet releases the "PvP skillset" and seperates PvE skills from PvP skills- they are just looking for something to QQ about. Yes, finally, PvE players with money can get a cute little emote- it looks lame, and will never hold the prestiege of the HA emotes.
As for ranking someone's corpse- the only people I've ever Ranked in HA are the ones who talked smack before the match started, and then got PwNeD because they needed to /uninstall due to epic failure... Aside from that, you don't really use it much- okay, except for the time when a team synced their tigers at me and my team, and I was r3 and bambied them back, but...
As for PvP'ers whining that this is dumb, etc.- So F*&^%ing what? it's a cash cow for all of us- sell your Z-keys for 5k each to the nub who's trying to fill his Hall of Monuments, and go buy some cool gear( gently strokes his brand new r10 voltaic purchased from 45 zkey sale ).
Seriously, we all know that once ANet puts something like this in place, it won't be removed by any amount of complaining. And in all fairnsee, what is there really to complain about?

I think you meant "the ones who acted like assholes before the match started". Stooping to their level, though, isn't cool.

Stop QQ. Anet put this in for the casual pvpers, those people don't do ha, they just like to around and mess around in ab/ra. I'm surprised that this isn't the glad title rank. But since Anet has put in that new Favor System, we need more titles. But all these titles are just grinding, which is Anet's replacement of new expansions/campaigns because they are working on GW2.

Ranking may be unsportsmanlike, but doesn't really fall into the reasonable use of the /report command. I would expect those that report rank spikes would find themselves with a temp ban down the line.
My only problem with the Zaishen title is the PvE-er that bought all their keys and spams the rank like they earned it the hard way. I rather see someone spamming a tiger that was IWAY'd or sway'd before I see a r8 zaishen title being spammed.

Come to think of it I /zrank a fallen body after I win in RA/HA =) now just cause Anet said its okay (hey they had a video on how to do it!)
I dont flash hero title tho just /zrank cause it was meant to "insult" the enemy.
I have yet to encounter a negative comment while doing this.. (over 30 times used), so maybe its not that bad or taken negatively.

When did HA emotes have "prestiege"?
Iway? Blood Spike? Ranger Spike? S Way? Paraway? Legoway? And all the numerous other FOTM builds I missed.
Not to mention fame farming. PvE players with enormous wealth have bought HA emotes as well.
No title in Guild Wars takes "skill". If you have enough money you can find people to help you get it.

Champion does to some extent. Even if you do buy it, you still gotta play to win even if you do play with the best players cause 7 vs 8 is bad. Maybe it wont take skill for the guy who buys the champ title but it does take skill for the farmers, therefore it is a title requiring skill.
And in terms of high ranked guilds.. ya u gotta have skill to win a lot lol.

I think the same applies to HA- you can't go 7v8 very often and have a killer fame run.

Thing is, it's not 7v8. In both GvG and HA you can have bars that take next to no skill to play... taint necro, fire ele, bsurge, etc. Just give him one of those bars. Of course, you'll see a slight difference between a good taint necro and an unranked clueless one, but it won't be as big of a difference as between good and bad monk, mesmer or warrior.

True, but gimmicks don't farm faster than a coordinated balanced in any pvp format. Just having to play PvP and win makes a /rank more prestgious than a /zrank. HA builds may be lame, but you have to consider the amount of guilds that exist to roll that place daily.
Now if you want to get into a a debate about which pvp title is more prestigious, then its true Hero would be low on that list and Champion should be the top.

A person who taunts another in dojo before or after a match is an absolute disgrace to everything that he represents, and a failure as a practioner of the art regardless of technical skill. It has nothing to do with being a carebear or a treehugger and everything to do with dignity.

QFT. To be honest, I do think if people are offended over a computer game they might need to unplug, but at the same time if people feel the need to prove their uberness they should also unplug.
I suppose the question really revolves around whether computer games are entertainment or sport. Pro wrestling is entertainment and you will see taunts a-plenty there. Cricket, tennis, rugby, they are all sports, and players are expected to be on their best behaviour.
I consider ranking to be rude, unsporting, and often completely uncalled for. I do not find it personally insulting.

imo i could care less about this ranking emote... i play to win by fair play and nothing more. if i want to have a nice sportsman-like attitude ill come back to the realilty and go chill with my friends. if u have a problem with getting a loss rubbed in your face....well, get over it. its life and part of the game. dont wanna get emoted? then play better and it'll reduce ur losses... or simply quite pvp. quit whining about anet having some fun...

Come on its a game, even Charr /rank you when they kill you. There is a /taunt emote build into the game, and jesting + ranking is part of the game's fun. If you are getting offended by this kind of stuff, your taking this game way too seriously.
Now dropping, 4x gold weapons on someone.... thats ftw!
Banning people for taunting or /ranking is just plain stupid. People are going to use those emotes and its all good fun. If people get offended by this sort of stuff its their own fault for being way too uptight.
If someone at Anet is banning for emote jesting they seriously need to get their head fixed. They really can't justify banning people for this sort of nonsense unless they completely remove /gloat from charr in the game and post warnings about it.
If I had R12 zaishen, you know I would be dropping weapons on people, yes yes, every single time.

I think that you didn't get it.
Speaking only on my own behalf, I'm not offended at all if somebody ranks people on arenas. If anybody those rankers humiliate themselves through their disgraceful conduct. That there are people who gleefully virtual fap in plain view doesn't surprise me either, that's just the way it is and you can't expect rude people to see the pool of indignity in which they wallow. That ANet specifically and intentionally panders to that part of the population raises an eyebrow concerning the future of this franchise.

I very much agree with Tmak here.
My main gripe with the /zrank is that its visually ugly.
I don't mind getting fame /ranked because at least they're something to look at.
That, coupled with what has been suggested by the OP and worded by Tmak, is what makes this a VERY bad title.

Interesting how I see people complaining about "bad behavior" in GW but have *never* heard complaints about bad behavior in TF2 (which contains a variety of different taunts for each class and a Nemesis system if you get killed too many times be the same player).

Using an emote as a finishing move = disgraceful conduct?
With the amount of righteous morality you people pull out of your arses on a daily basis you must shit angel dust and piss sun beams from heaven.
